HC Deb 22 February 1999 vol 326 c71W
Miss McIntosh

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what progress there has been in the UK-US air services negotiations; and if he will make a statement. [72162]

Dr. Reid

The last round of formal negotiations on full liberalisation of UK/US air services ended abruptly on 7 October when the US team decided to terminate the discussions. A round of informal exploratory discussions on liberalisation is scheduled for 18–19 February in London. Meanwhile, routine negotiations on matters such as increases in the allowable capacity on UK/US routes under the Bermuda 2 agreement continue as normal.
