§ Clare ShortWe are participating with the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions in the current negotiations on the Biosafety Protocol. The Government's overall objective in the negotiations is to protect the environment and human health worldwide.
We are working to ensure that the Protocol includes appropriate capacity building and financial assistance through the Global Environment Facility so that developing countries can protect their interests.
