To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what percentage of RAF aircraft will be mission capable by 31 May. [68260]

[holding answer 3 February 1999]: Under current plans, 100 per cent. of RAF aircraft will be mission capable by 31 May. An average of 82 per cent. of established aircraft are forecast to be available for service on this date, with the other 18 per cent. of aircraft forecast to be undergoing routine major maintenance off-base.
