§ Mr. Tony LloydNo amendments to the CFE Treaty are required before the accession of new members to NATO. But our aim is that the process of adapting the Treaty, under way since 1996, will result in an agreement which better reflects the realities of today's European security environment, by moving the Treaty from a structure based on the Cold War military alliances to one based on national limits.
