§ Clare ShortThe total annual cost of the DFID Eastern Africa office in Nairobi is £2.87 million. The office is responsible for both the policy and implementation of development programmes for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to a combined value of £132 million (1999–2000).
The estimated costs for 1999–2000 are broken down as follows:
- (a) Staff costs including house and other personnel overheads: £2 million
- (b) Other costs including office accommodation equipment, travel, etc: £870,000
