HC Deb 01 February 1999 vol 324 cc515-6W
Mr. Alan Simpson

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what assessment the Minister has made of the allegations by the Defence Attaché to the Indonesian Embassy in London that British-made military equipment, including Saracen and Saladin armoured vehicles, are currently in use in occupied East Timor; and if he will make a statement. Mr. Fatchett

I have been asked to reply.

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave on 28 January 1999, Official Report, column 394. Saracen and Saladin armoured vehicles were exported to Indonesia in the 1960s.
