§ Mr. HainWe have taken a number of opportunities to speak to the Government of Sudan about the decisions of President Bashir both bilaterally and with the EU stressing our concern for the safety of British citizens and the importance we attach to a comprehensive peace settlement that benefits all Sudanese.
The situation on the ground remains calm. We will continue to monitor events closely through our Embassy in Khartoum.
