To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what steps his Department is taking to encourage the regeneration of Lancashire seaside resorts; and if he will make a statement. [102019]

The Government's strategy for tourism "Tomorrow's Tourism" contains a raft of initiatives to promote quality tourism, including a model regeneration plan for resorts. The English Tourism Council have been given primary responsibility for resort issues and they are currently setting up a Resorts Task Force to tackle issues in resorts.
