HC Deb 20 December 1999 vol 341 c352W
Mr. Hoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport if he will investigate the possibility of relocating the proposed new Olympic Stadium in Manchester. [102715]

Kate Hoey

The final decision on timing and location of any UK Olympic bid rests with the British Olympic Association. The BOA feel that the strongest option for a successful bid would be to base it in London. The BOA is therefore conducting a feasibility study of a possible future London-based Olympic bid, which they will submit to Government in the new year.
