§ Ms Estelle MorrisThe Standards Fund is paid under powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by the Education Act 1996. Section 484 of that Act enables the Secretary of State to pay education standards grants to local education authorities in respect of eligible expenditure incurred or to be incurred by them.
