§ Ms QuinThe process of ratification of the Treaty of Amsterdam was completed on 30 March, when France deposited its instrument of ratification with the Italian Government.
In accordance with Article 248 of the Treaty on European Union, the Treaty of Amsterdam will come into force on Saturday 1 May 1999.
