§ Dr. Reid[holding answer 20 April 1999]: The Road Haulage Forum which was set up in conjunction with industry will look at potential indicators and statistics relevant to the current debate over road haulage. Additionally the ongoing review of lorry VED, announced by the Chancellor in the March 1998 Budget, will continue to examine the basis on which lorry VED is determined, in terms of road track costs and environmental impact.
