HC Deb 21 April 1999 vol 329 c588W
Mr. Gibb

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the costs of(a) printing and (b) postage of sending a leaflet to every household informing them of tax and spending decisions. [80856]

Dawn Primarolo

The approximate cost of the household leaflet is around £1.5 million but the exact cost will depend on a number of factors, including the way in which it is distributed and the number of households receiving a copy. The cost will be firmed up in the run up to Budget 2000. Any expenditure will be met within the existing spending totals.
