HC Deb 21 April 1999 vol 329 c555W
Mr. Cotter

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what estimate he has made of the value of trading over the internet in the United Kingdom in each of the last three years. [81060]

Mr. Wills

Commercially available surveys suggest that in 1998 some £350 million was spent on-line in the UK, which is expected to grow to around £5 billion in 2002.
