§ Mr. Michael"Public Bodies 1998", copies of which are available in the Library of the House, provides information on the levels of remuneration paid to those serving on the boards of public bodies for which my Department is responsible. In addition my Department publishes a quarterly report containing details of public appointments for which I have responsibility. A copy of this report is also available in the Library of the House. The majority of public appointments are unpaid, as most of those who accept a public appointment do so on a voluntary basis.
Responsibility for making public appointments in Wales will transfer to the National Assembly.
