§ Ms Glenda Jackson[holding answer 27 October 1998]: The responsibility for issuing general guidance on the application of the prohibitions on anti-competitive agreements and the abuse of market power lies with the Director General of Fair Trading under Clause 52 of the Competition Bill, which will receive Royal Assent shortly.
