§ Mr. Mandelson[holding answer 22 October 1998]: Regional Selective Assistance is available in the assisted areas. Following the introduction of new European Commission guidelines on national regional aid, the Government is required to submit to the European Commission by 31 March 1999 proposals for designating new assisted areas. Once the proposals are agreed, the Government will announce the new map.
