§ Mr. Tony LloydWe are concerned that breaches of basic human rights are still occurring in The Gambia. We discussed this with colleagues at the October meeting of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG). CMAG's Chairman has written to President Jammeh asking for his response to recent allegations of human rights abuses. If such abuses continue, it will inevitably lead to a review of our current aid and assistance programme.
