Whether they consider that electronic tagging may be a suitable alternative to detention for Immigration Act detainees; and whether they will conduct a trial with some of the asylum seekers at present in detention. [HL3477]
§ Lord Williams of MostynWe are following with interest the pilot schemes for the use of electronic tagging within the criminal justice system and will, in due course, consider whether a similar system would be beneficial to the Immigration Service.
