§ Mr. TimmsThe latest estimate is that there are around 10,000 higher rate taxpayers currently in receipt of Disability Living Allowance. This is based on survey information and is subject to a margin of error. An estimate of the total cost of these awards is not available; however, if the average receipt reflects that for Disability Living Allowance recipients as a whole, the cost will be in the region of £25 million for this year.
