§ Mr. MeacherMy hon. Friend the then Under-Secretary of State announced on 23 June 1998,Official Report, columns 431–32, that the review of the National Air Quality Strategy, originally planned for 1999, would now be completed by the end of this year, to look at the prospects of delivering cleaner air more quickly. I can confirm that we are on course to meet this and we aim to publish our proposals to amend the Strategy for consultation in the New Year.
