To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, pursuant to his answer of 6 April 1998,Official Report, column 59, on departmental transport arrangements, what further changes he has made. [54018]

[holding answer 31 July 1998]: My Department is working towards the target announced in the White Paper 'A New Deal for Transport', that all headquarters buildings and main buildings occupied by Executive Agencies and Government Offices for the Regions should have green transport plans by March 1999 and all other key buildings by March 2000.

Recent activities have included the drafting of a Green Transport Plan, the undertaking of a Travel to Work survey, arrangements for provision of a DETR speaker to all Property Centres on Green Transport Plans, registering with the Cyclists' Touring Club's "Post a Pot-Hole Campaign" and carrying out a traffic survey in the main car park in 1 Victoria Street building.
