To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what were the results of the public consultation following publication of the White Paper on Strategic Export Controls; and if he will make a statement. [61814]

The Department has received 54 responses to the White Paper on Strategic Export Controls. I am placing copies of the responses, except two for which complete confidentiality has been requested, in the Libraries of both Houses and in the Library of the Department. I have also arranged for copies of the responses to be made available on request from the Department's Export Control Organisation.

We are currently reviewing our proposals in the light of the responses received, and will make a further announcement in due course.
