Several Directorates and Units within the Home Office currently produce research papers:

Research, Development and Statistics Directorate produce the following series:

  • Home Office research studies
  • LOVAS (Local Voluntary Activity Surveys)
  • `Made availables' (background information to the Home Office research studies)
  • Occasional papers
  • Research findings

Research, Development and Statistics Directorate also produce the following statistical series:

  • Aspects of crime
  • Bulletins
  • Digest (information on the Criminal Justice System, England and Wales)
  • Findings
  • Key Statistic Booklets
  • Section 95 Publications
  • Sentencing patterns England and Wales

Police and Reducing Crime Unit produce papers in the following series:

  • Briefing notes series
  • Police Research Award Scheme series
  • Police research series
  • Special interest series

Fire Research and Development Group (FRDG) produce:

  • FRDG research reports
  • CFBAC (Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council) research reports
Drugs Prevention Initiative produces a series of research papers entitled Drug Prevention Initiative papers. Police Scientific and Development Branch produces a series of technical reports covering a wide range of its work.
