To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will estimate the amount of money owed relating to the former poll tax, indicating the former district and borough councils affected; and if he will make a statement. [60549]

The latest available information on community charge arrears for the former district and borough councils is given in the table.

Arrears of community charge are now collected by unitary authorities. These figures cannot be split into figures for the former district and borough councils. The total amount in arrears as at 31 March 1998 was £10.5 million.
