HC Deb 19 November 1998 vol 319 cc849-50W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on his proposed cross-party group of hon. Members to discuss euro preparations. [60687]

Ms Hewitt

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer wrote to each Parliamentary Party on 10 November inviting nominations for representatives for the new Cross-Party Advisory Group on preparations for the euro. Given the importance of ensuring that UK business is prepared for the start of the euro next year, I hope that every Parliamentary Party will wish to be represented on the Group.

Mr. Malcolm Bruce

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he intends to write to the Treasury Spokesmen of Opposition Parties in the House in relation to his plans to establish a cross-party committee to consider preparations for the euro; and if he will make a statement.[60041]
