§ Mr. HainIt is not possible from Government sources to quantify the number of apprenticeship places available to Deeside school leavers. Deeside school leavers are able to access both modern and traditional apprenticeships throughout Great Britain. However, in Wales the Government have contracted with TECs for the provision of 4,743 starts on Modern Apprenticeships in 1998–99 of which 750 are in the North Wales TEC area.
