To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make it his policy to ensure Her Majesty's Government's representatives abroad are of High Commissioner status in as many different Commonwealth countries as finances allow. [59569]

One of the main strategic aims of UK foreign policy is to strengthen the Commonwealth and improve the prosperity of its members. This is being taken into account in the current review of our global representation which will modernise our world-wide operations and ensure that staff and resources are deployed so as best to meet our objectives.
