To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions if he will list the concessionary travel schemes available to pensioners in each local authority in the West Midlands region; and the costs of each scheme. [58875]

Concessionary travel schemes are a matter for local authorities, and my Department does not have details of schemes for pensioners. But the overall costs reported by local authorities of concessionary travel schemes (covering elderly, blind and disabled people and children) for the 1996–97 financial year for each local authority in area covered by the Government Office for the West Midlands are as follows:
