HC Deb 12 November 1998 vol 319 c259W
Sir Nicholas Lyell

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many(a) civilians and (b) police officers of what rank, are employed in the civil and administration support units of the Sussex police. [59461]

Mr. Boateng

I understand from the Chief Constable of Sussex that there are 185 civilian staff employed in Administration Support Units, known by the Sussex Police as Criminal Justice Support Units (CJSUs). Seven police officers of inspector rank oversee Sussex's multi-skilled units, of which the CJSUs form a part. The inspectors also have other responsibilities.
