§ Mr. MilburnThe table shows the percentage of registered midwives in the National Health Service in England for the years 1993 and 1994, broken down according to grade and region. Figures are not available for 1995–97 as the Department's non-medical workforce census, the source of this statistic, does not collect information by clinical grade. In addition, the NHS Executive has gathered information from trusts about how the grading guidance is being applied to midwives.
