§ Ms Estelle Morris[holding answer 9 November 1998]England's share of the additional £19 billion for education over the next three years is £16 billion. Increases in Education Standard Spending Assessments account for £7.135 billion of this. Local education authorities and schools will also benefit from substantial other additional resources, including an additional £1.5 billion for schools capital and a big increase in the Standards Fund. A number of areas are still to be finalised, and full details will be published in the Department's Annual Report in the spring.
