§ Dr. Reid[holding answer 3 November 1998]: The Government are currently consulting on the details of the proposed public/private partnership for NATS. In consequence, no decision has been taken on the timing or details of any sale. NATS intends to bring the Swanwick centre into service at the earliest opportunity consistent with maintaining the safety of the system and meeting the requirements of its customers.
