To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (1) how many bids for Lottery funding for arts projects in the Witney constituency(a) have been received, (b) have been awarded, giving amounts and (c) are still outstanding, since the establishment of the National Lottery; [57562]

(2) what proportion of total Lottery funding for arts projects and sports projects has been awarded to such projects in the Witney constituency since the establishment of the National Lottery; [57563]

(3) how many bids for Lottery funding for sports projects in the Witney constituency (a) have been received, (b) have been awarded, giving amounts and (c) are still outstanding, since the establishment of the National Lottery. [57561]

[holding answer 3 November 1998]To date the National Lottery distributors have awarded £5.03 billion to 31,000 projects across the United Kingdom. In England, the Arts Council of England has announced grants totalling £963,271,382 to 7,411 projects. The English Sports Council has announced grants totalling £753,348,968 to 2,679 projects. The figures for the Witney constituency are set out in the table:
