Mr. Bob Russell

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions if he will publish a breakdown of emissions from(a) the Edmonton and (b) the Lewisham incinerators since January 1996. [56748]

Mr. Meale

Data on emissions from the Edmonton (London Waste Ltd.) and Lewisham (SELCHP) incinerators have already been published and are regularly updated. The data are available on public registers; either the Environment Agency's public register, Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road, Reading or the local authority registers at Enfield and Lewisham Borough Council respectively.

Information is also held centrally by the Agency on its Chemical Releases Inventory and the following table gives details of annual emissions from these two sites for 1996 and 1997. Details of the monitoring results on which these annual returns are based can be found on the public registers.

(2) if he will provide a breakdown, in numerical and percentage terms, of the ethnic origin of civil servants in his private office, as at 1 October 1997. [56810]
