HC Deb 05 November 1998 vol 318 c675W
Mr. McGrady

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what steps have been taken to market the new industrial site currently under construction on the Belfast Road, Downpatrick, in the(a) United States of America, (b) Canada, (c) Central Europe and (d) the Far East; and what have been the results of the marketing exercise. [57338]

Mr. Ingram

The overseas marketing by the Industrial Development Board (IDB) present the business opportunity of Northern Ireland as a whole, to encourage potential Investors to visit. Rarely at this early stage do potential investors seek such details but Overseas Representatives of the IDB do visit sites when they are in Northern Ireland so that they can answer detailed questions. It is generally when potential investors visit Northern Ireland that they are keen to learn details of particular sites. This year there have been two visits to the Belfast Road site in Downpatrick.
