§ Mr. Dewar[holding answer 3 November 1998]: In Scotland, defence diversification has been taken forward as a business development activity at local level through Local Enterprise Companies rather than by Scottish 594W Enterprise at a national level. The Local Enterprise Companies that have had most involvement in this activity have been Fife Enterprise, Glasgow Development Agency and Lothian and Edinburgh Enterprise Ltd.
