Mr. Jon Owen JonesThe allocation of funding to each district and county council for 1990–91 to 1995–96 inclusive and to each unitary authority for 1996–97 to 1998–99 inclusive is shown in the following tables. The funding for county councils includes police grant for the years 1990–91 to 1994–95, police authorities have been directly funded from 1995–96 onwards. In all cases authorities' spending has been above the grant allocated to them which has principally been funded through the community charge/council tax.
