Mr. Maclean

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what has been the value, in current prices, of the United Kingdom's net imports or exports of (a) beef and veal, (b) lamb and mutton, (c) pork and other pigmeats, (d) cereals and other crops, (e) horticultural products and (f) non-meat livestock products for each year since 1975. The tables show the value at current prices (prices at the time of trade), as recorded by the Overseas Trade Statistics, for imports, exports and net trade for each year from 1975 to 1997 for the following:

  1. (a) beef and veal;
  2. (b) lamb and mutton (including the meat of goats between 1975 and 1987);
  3. (c) pork and other pigmeats;
  4. (d) cereals and cereal preparations of barley, maize, oats rice, rye, wheat and other cereal crops;
  5. (e) fruit, nuts and vegetables and their preparations;
  6. (f) eggs and egg products, and milk and milk products.
