§ Dr. ReidCarrier operations are invariably supported by anti-submarine frigates, Air Defence destroyers and Royal Fleet Auxiliaries. Additionally, all other Fleet units, including submarines, mine-countermeasure vessels, specialist amphibious shipping and survey vessels may be required to support Carrier Operations depending upon the specific nature of the operation, the role of the carrier and the operating environment.
