§ Mr. Gordon Brown[holding answer 12 May 1998]Euro-X is an informal body to be established in line with the conclusions of the Luxembourg European Council. In line with the Luxembourg conclusions, the United Kingdom will be present at meetings of Euro-X which discuss issues of common interest to all EU Member States. The ECOFIN Council, which involves all Member States, will remain the only decision making body on economic coordination.
