§ Ms Estelle MorrisMusic is a National Curriculum foundation subject and must be taught in all primary schools. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority is currently advising my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State on the broad nature and scope of a review of the National Curriculum for the year 2000. In addition, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools reports annually to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State on the range and quality of teaching in all National Curriculum subjects in primary schools, including music.
