§ Dr. StrangThe Government recognise the particular needs of rural communities, and wants to improve rural services. The forthcoming Transport White paper will set out how our integrated transport policy should be delivered in order to meet the environmental and economic needs of all parts of the country, both urban and rural. In advance of the White Paper, the Chancellor has announced an additional £50m a year to improve public transport in rural areas.
