§ Mr. MichaelThe Government have no plans to extend the use of polygraph machines in criminal cases. The admissibility of evidence in criminal proceedings is a matter for the courts. 394WMs Alami and Mr. Botmeh are both category A prisoners and their security categorisation is subject to annual review by the Prison Service. They will next be reviewed in August.
Both prisoners are held in normal prison conditions appropriate to their security category. As with all sentenced prisoners, they are subject to incentives and earned privileges schemes under which their access to additional facilities are earned or lost according to their behaviour in prison.
