§ Mr. WilsonMy first concern is to raise standards in our schools. Teachers have a large part to play in securing that objective. I await with interest the report of the Millennium Review of School Education (which is being conducted by COSLA and the teacher unions) and any proposals it may have to improve teacher effectiveness.
