The Secretary of State has asked me to reply to your Question about the number of dwellings in the Green Belt in Hertfordshire given planning consent on appeal since 1 May 1997.Twelve appeals involving residential development in the Green Belt have been allowed. However, most were for extensions to an existing dwelling. Two new dwellings have been approved, one at Goffs Oak (which was already classed as ancilliary residential accommodation), and the other at Bower Health (a conversion from a barn).
