§ Mr. WilsonRaising standards in schools means making teachers more effective. That means training and development for head teachers and classroom teachers alike. For aspiring head teachers we plan to introduce a new qualification, soundly based on practical experience in schools, which will help them acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding required for the job. Development of this new qualification is proceeding and I look forward to its introduction next year.
