§ Mr. DewarThe running costs budget for the Scottish Office core for 1997–98 is £136.1 million, of which £88.5 million is to cover salary costs. The percentage of these costs which are incurred in Scotland are: 99.63 per cent. for running costs and 99.65 per cent. for pay. The percentages incurred in London are: 0.37 per cent. for running costs and 0.35 per cent. for pay. The figures for London comprise the running costs of staff permanently based in Dover House and of Dover House itself.
