To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland in respect of the Scottish Block and central Government support to local authority current expenditure, what the difference is between the planned provision for 1998–99 made by the previous Government after adjustment to take account of updated estimates of the GDP deflator and the revised provision for 1998–99 made by the current Government.
