§ Mr. MichaelI replied to the hon. Member on 18 March 1998. The Home Office has received a lot of correspondence on the subject of law and order in recent months; this has meant that not all letters have been answered as quickly as we would have liked. We have also put measures in hand to improve the Home Office correspondence system in order to provide speedier, high quality responses in future.
